KEANU

"For this title sequence I wanted to do something unique, and tell the story using the drawings and pictures that are hanging on the wall of one of the main characters. The director was also interested in showing the “Keanu calendar”, a project the main character is working on at the beginning of the movie. To achieve this, I decided to create a giant frame with all the drawings and pictures together and then drop a camera into that frame, panning around it. I was interested in discovering organic errors and the goal was to find beautiful compositions within the mess of overlapped layers. Also I had to design the camera move in a way that I didn't show the same spot twice, while simultaneously keeping the authenticity. That's why the sequence has no tricks or cuts, it's all one virtual camera traveling around one big frame as if it was shot on a real set."

CAMERA SEQUENCE DESIGN:
Here it is a quick layout showing the design of the camera move. I devided the sequence on 3 sections. Each section is represented by a different color. Every square represents where the camera will stop to reveal the credit. The challenge was not to be reperirive on the sequence so the camera had to travel in a way that doesn't repeat content. I didn't want a linear camera move either so I had to come up with a simple design to solve this complex problem.
