"I was commissioned by Creative Director Danny Yount, to create the logo animation for National Geographic's original series, Origins. My desire was to represent, in a clean and simple way, the journey of humankind, which is the main premise of the television show. To achieve this, I created an animation based on the outlines of each letter and added a circular motion. I filled in the shape from all different directions, until the entire logo was complete and legible. To create this aesthetic, I divided the logo into various layers, and animated them using keyframe animations and included jump cuts to add an organic feel. The logo animation was used in various TV promos on the National Geographic Channel and in promo videos on social media as well. The following videos are some examples of how this animation was integrated into the promotional campaign.”
