“I was approached by Danny Yount to create animations for the title sequence of Pennyworth. I collaborated with him on the animation of the buildings and explosions. In order to bring these animations to life and pair them seamlessly with the tone of the rest of the sequence, I decided to do a cell animation of the explosions and buildings using matte frames and other techniques frame by frame. By doing so, I could get the grungy and organic aesthetic that the piece was calling for. Once the animations were combined with the rest of the piece, the high level of detail becomes apparent and important to the final outcome of this sequence."
